Week 10 Post Production

Monday: Today was spent getting ready for the master tree Cairnaghn has almost finished. It looks great. The tree, as from what I could see, had no leaves so it would make the animation process a bit more easier. Dom and Ed were preparing to start doing their things in After Effects (colour correction, stabilizing, tracking), Cairnaghn was finishing off the tree and Andrew was finishing off his practicing and getting ready for the master tree.

Tuesday: Today Andrew and I were shown the master tree and given copies so we could play around with it. Andrew started his rigging process straight away while I did some basic stuff rigs and played around with the animation to see what it was like.

Thursday: Today was spent practicing while Andrew was gone so I couldn't get the completed rig. I watched what Dom, Ed and Cairnaghn did while occasionally going back to doing what I was doing.

Week 9 Production

Monday: We finally were able to wrap up all shooting today. I didnt go to Southbank but went straight to Eds place to meet them at the train station. We arrived and went straight to the park to do the re-shoots we needed and then to Eds house to finish off the final shots we needed. Andrew, Dom and Myself then left to go back to Southbank to give the equipment back. Andrew and I discussed on the train about the tree, our original plan was to each have our own tree and do our own rigging and see which is better but decided against it. We came to an agreement that he would handle rigging while I took the animation side of things.
Tuesday: We spent today reviewing the footage and doing individual work. We looked over some of the shots and most were pretty good. Some could have been better but we had no more time to do any re-shoots due to this being the last week of production. Some of the group wanted to do some shots in-front of the green screen to make some of the post production easier but I was worried about the time we had. In the end I said if they could then try it.

Thursday: Today was spent practicing but I don't have any animation practice at the moment so I spent a bit rigging again then looking at the animation part of the tutorial. I also looked at some videos simulating a tree in the wind.

Week 8 Production

Monday: Our day was spent doing our individual jobs withing the group e.g. Cairnaghn working on the tree model, Ed and Dom working on shots and the orders, Myself working on practicing for the tree animation. Andrew was working with another group for the day due to complications with their actor.

Tuesday: Today we were able to secure the equipment for next week Monday to be able to finish off filming. We also made sure to call our actor and make sure he was available as well. The rest of the day was spent doing the same as yesterday.

Thursday: Today we had a quick group meeting to inform Andrew of what was happening Monday. We discussed what shots needed to still be taken and what shots need to be retaken. Nothing else of importance happened.

Week 7 Production

Monday: Monday started off with the usual group meeting. We discussed what we were all doing individually and what shots needed to be re-shot in-case we missed any during last weeks discussion. Cairnaghn showed us the tree she has been modelling and it seems to be almost finished. Andrew and I spent the rest of the day talking about our problems with our individual rigging and animation practice.
Tuesday: Today was supposed to be the day that we needed to go out to film but it was postponed till tomorrow due to weather. I spent the rest of the day practicing rigging. Nothing else of importance happened.

Thursday: Again filming was postponed but this time due to our actor being unavailable. The day was spent practicing some rigging as usual but we also looked over some of the shots that Dom and Ed were practicing with while we gave them our opinions when they asked for them.

Week 6 Production

Monday: We started the day off with a group meeting to discuss what our plan was for the first week of production. We agreed to start off with doing the shots that needed the park first so we didn't need to go back to public property. We booked the equipment for tomorrow and began to work on our own jobs. Andrew and I focused on rigging but we had to use models from an outside source due to the tutorials we were given being only available in 2014 while the schools current version was 2013.

Tuesday: Today was chosen as the day we went off to film at the park but Andrew hadn't arrived at South-bank until 11:30 cutting our time to film off quite a bit. We went to his car and discovered another problem, there wasn't enough room inside for everyone to sit. I decided to stay behind at Tafe to practice while Andrew and Dom left with the equipment towards Ed's place. I felt as if me staying behind wouldn't be much of a problem since filming isn't one of my strengths.

Thursday: Thursday we came together to look at what shots had currently been done and which shots needed to be retaken. Most of the shots were good but some needed some re-shoots. The next filming time was decided to be next week Tuesday. I went home after we discussed what we needed to to work on some rigging at home. I've gotten used to rigging though I haven't started animation yet.
